Ingredients

  • 150g oats
  • 100g blitzed oats (using blender or food processor)
  • 60ml maple syrup
  • 90g butter, melted
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 10ml lemon juice ( about 1/2 DOLE GO Organic! lemon, juiced)
  • 2 medium DOLE GO Organic! apples, cored and diced

Method

1.⁠ ⁠ Preheat oven to 180°C (fan) or 200°C (conventional). Line a square baking pan with parchment paper.

2.⁠ ⁠ In a small bowl, toss the diced apples with lemon juice and set aside.

3.⁠ In a medium mixing bowl, stir together oats, oat flour, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in the maple syrup and melted butter until well combined.

4. Press 2/3 of the oat mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly to form a base. Spread the apples evenly on top. Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture over the apples and gently press it down.

5.⁠ ⁠Bake for 30 minutes, then check the texture of the bars. If they're not golden and set, continue baking in 5 minute intervals.

6.⁠ ⁠Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before slicing into 9 equal squares!
