1. Pre-heat oven to 180ºC/350ºF.
2. Add the cauliflower and broccoli to a large pot of water and cook with the lid off for 20 minutes until al-dente. Drain and add to a large baking tray.
3. Melt the butter in a pan, add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Sprinkle in the flour and stir until smooth. Pour in the milk slowly stirring well to prevent lumps in the sauce.
4. Add the cheddar cheese and stir into the sauce until it is fully melted, then season with a little pepper.
5. Pour the sauce over the vegetables, then sprinkle over the breadcrumbs.
6. Bake for 25 minutes or until the top is golden and crispy.
7. Serve warm.
