Romaine Lettuce
Make the most of your fruit! Learn how to select, prep, and protect your farm-fresh produce.
How do you prepare romaine lettuce?
As most lettuce, romaine is most often used in salads. Brush the heads with a vinaigrette and grill for a warm salad or side dish.
How do you store romaine lettuce?
Clean lettuce before storing. Cut bottom core off and thoroughly wash leaves under cold water. Do not allow the leaves to soak in water, it will cause them to lose crispness. Gently pat dry leaves with paper towels or a clean kitchen towel. A salad spinner can also be used to dry leaves. Store lettuce in plastic bag or airtight container in refrigerator for up to 10 days.
