Quality fruit needs space. The plantation covers more than 227 hectares, 561 acres, or 318 soccer fields. 173 people work at this plantation.
Colombia
Colombia is the fourth largest country in South America. The terrain ranges from low-lying coastal regions to the Andean plateau at 18700 Feet or 5700m and tropical rainforest. Bananas are grown between the mountains and the sea. Locals do not eat much our cavendish bananas, they prefer plantains as a side dish, or Manzanos.

The largest banana-growing region in Colombia. The climate is hot and very rainy, giving the bananas all the water they need. They are transported down river to the sea in barges and loaded on to the ships by crane.
