Quality fruit needs space. The plantation covers more than 70 hectares, 173 acres, or 98 soccer fields. 135 people work at this plantation.
Until the 90’s Peru did not export bananas which were only grown for the domestic market. In the late 90’s the peruvian banana industry was able to meet the requirement of the organic certification and adapted its practices to meet the international export standards. The local banana industry has been continuously growing since then.
Sullana is located in the northwestern part of Peru. Bananas have replaced cotton as the main crop in the region but it also grows grapes and mangos successfully.
